The Web Application Administrator develops and maintains website content, ensures consistency, supports users, manages the helpdesk system, troubleshoots IT issues, and assists with database, network, and asset management.

 

JOB PURPOSE

Under the supervision of the Chief Information Officer, the Web Application Administrator is responsible for the development and maintenance of content and content standards for the organization web site and related communications media, working directly with the all users, citizens, communication, and information systems division to ensure requirements are achieved. Responsible for maintaining the helpdesk application including logging and responding to service calls.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build and maintain web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques and tools to support the organization’s strategies and goals;
  • Design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements
  • Maintain the consistency of style, format and navigation across the web site.
  • Provide technical support to departmental content experts in the design of departmental web sites; instruct departmental liaisons on graphic design, basic web page layout and documentation organization.
  • Edits and updates information in a format and style appropriate for Internet communications.
  • Keeps current with the ongoing evolution of communication techniques effective for Internet customers.
  • Design, build and maintain web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques and tools to support the organization’s strategies and goals; design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements
  • Design and create promotional materials using digital graphics software.
  • Assess, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade computers and printers for use on network.
  • Support User issues (software, hardware) locally and over W.A.N. to the regional offices.
  • Manage and Maintain the Help Desk Management system
  • Manage and Fixed Asset Management System in Help Desk
  • Assist the database and network administrators with daily operational functions.
  • Assist with input of relevant information into License Management System
  • Assist with the maintenance of computerized collection and tracking of relevant data
  • Assist with the preparation of relevant monthly statistical tables
  • Conduct hands on training for staff.
  • Maintain Service Level Agreement with Website Developer & Web Hosting Agency
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelors Degree with acceptable specialization in Information Systems or Computer Science Three years’ experience in Database management systems including web technologies.
  • Microsoft Certification in windows application may be considered.
