The Telecommunication Analyst will be responsible for oversight of the development, maintenance and operations of all telecommunications infrastructure and devices. In additions researching new technologies in telecommunication.

 

THE CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assists with the development and support of the RHA’s telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Liaises with senior staff in each facility.
  • Assists with the deployment of networked telecommunications technologies including standalone switches.
  • Processes requests for Mobile Telephones. Also to rectify faults and to resolve billing queries.
  • Monitors networked telecommunications systems usage and performance to ensure that resources are used efficiently and that the required resource usage does not exceed those available.
  • Reports regularly to the Service Delivery Administrator detailing the effectiveness of the telecommunications infrastructure, and possible future telecommunications strategies.
  • Advises the Service Delivery Administrator in matters relating to the telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Prepares for and deliver training for staff and users where appropriate, with particular emphasis on digital handsets, voicemail, extension portability (hot-desking) and Voice over IP as appropriate.
  • Assists with the establishment, recording and filing of operational procedures.
  • Performs all patching requests for telephone connections throughout the infrastructure and any necessary interconnections at voice switches.
  • Provides call logging and billing information for recharging and monitoring purposes, raise anomalies with appropriate personnel and provide up-to-date directory information for SWRHA staff.
  • Identifies and rectifies as far as possible any faults (hardware, software) on telecommunications systems and logging equipment, and as a last resort to report to maintenance providers.
  • Participates in the co-ordination and delivery of telecommunications services support.
  • Supervises installations and upgrades to systems hardware and software.
  • Contributes to the maintenance of a record of all the elements of the ICT infrastructure.
  • Ensures only agreed planned changes are made to the systems in a controlled manner.
  • Contributes to appropriate cover arrangements when colleagues are absent.
  • Provides cover where considered appropriate by the Heads for the exigencies of the service.
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  • Ability to perform duties according to assigned rosters or plans that can be formulated in times of authorized service exigencies.
  • Ability to use the relevant computer applications related to job functions

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate Degree in Information systems Technology or Advance Diploma in Telecommunications or any related discipline
  • Network Certification such as A+, Network+, or MCSE.
  • Knowledge and experience with PBX systems including VoIP
  • Knowledge and experience with telecommunication infrastructure implementation
  • One (1) years of experience
  • Experience with network maintenance, troubleshooting and wireless telecommunication.
