Technical Assistant

Job Purpose

The Technical Assistant performs a variety of semi-skilled work in the specialist fields to assist the skilled personnel in maintaining and repairing health care facilities. He /She reports to the relevant specialist Services Supervisor who may assign him/her to appropriate technical staff.

The Authority reserves the right to assign the officer to any Facility under its management.

The core functions include but not limited to the following:

• Performs a variety of relevant semi-skilled tasks associated with the maintenance of physical facilities as determined by the immediate supervisor.
• Sources and replaces tools and other items as required by the immediate supervisor.
• Operates a variety of tools and equipment associated with the relevant trade.
• Performs other related duties as required by the Senior.
• Ability to perform duties according to assigned rosters or plans that can be formulated in times of authorized service exigencies.
• Ability to use the relevant computer applications related to job functions.

 Required Qualifications, Training and Experience:

• Three CXC or O’level subjects or school leaving certificate with three years experience in the relevant skills area.
• Certificate of Good Character.
