The Technical Analyst II, IT ATM-POS Support reports to the Vice President, Infrastructure Network Security and will provide technical or engineering support for microcomputer, ATM, cabling or Point of Sale (POS) systems hardware and software.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Technical Support:

  • Provide expert-level technical support for Point of Sale (POS) and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) software, hardware, and network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimising system downtime and ensuring smooth operations.

System Implementation and Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and test new POS and ATM systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Perform regular system upgrades, hardware repairs, and preventive maintenance to optimise system performance and reliability.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for spare parts and consumables for all bank computing systems, including POS and ATMs.
  • Proactively manage stock levels to ensure optimal system uptime and minimise disruptions caused by equipment failures.

Technical Expertise:

  • Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends in POS and ATM systems.
  • Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge to support emerging technologies and maintain system efficiency.

Vendor Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, support partners, and third-party teams.
  • Ensure contract obligations are met and service level agreements are adhered to.
  • Collaborate effectively to address system issues and implement enhancements.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Create and maintain clear, concise, and up-to-date technical documentation, including procedures, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct thorough functional testing of POS and ATM systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across various sectors, including telecom, banking, retail, and corporate.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support, addressing client inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.

 

About the team

Information Technology covers a wide range of responsibilities at Butterfield including oversight of the Bank’s entire technology infrastructure, software development and maintenance to facilitate online product development and efficiencies as well as management of the website and intranet platforms. IT also plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank’s systems are kept safe and secure from cyber criminals.

 

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in a related field, i.e., electronics or computer technology, or three years’ related work experience.
  • Experience in system and network maintenance is essential; Knowledge of POS software would be an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficiency in IT systems relevant to POS operations
