The Systems Analyst I will be responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance and operation of all information systems and applications. The individual will also be responsible for researching new information systems tools and techniques.

 

THE CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Assists in the Development and maintains information systems and software, including problem identification, analysis, Database structure design, testing, and implementation.
  • Assists in the analysis of business problems and make recommendations on solutions, including off the shelf, tailored made and open-source alternatives.
  • Tracks industry trends by reviewing technical journals to remain current with hardware and software technology.
  • Assists in the Preparation of cost studies for system changes.
  • Provides customer service to users of information systems.
  • Assists a team of professionals in designing or maintaining information systems.
  • Assists in the Benchmarking all information systems and applications to ensure quality of service.
  • Assists in the Development and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, policies and procedures.
  • Develops and delivering training programs for ensuring business continuity
  • Implements the use of industrial standards in all aspects of information systems development, maintenance and operations
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
  • Ability to perform duties according to assigned rosters or plans that can be formulated in times of authorized service exigencies.
  • Ability to use the relevant computer applications related to job functions.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate Degree or Advance Diploma in Information Systems or Information Systems Management
  • Three (3) years experience in Information Systems development, maintenance and operations
  • Knowledge and experience with ITIL and COBIT governance standards
  • Knowledge and experience with Database systems including ORACLE , SQL and Microsoft Access
  • Knowledge of programming languages would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with information systems tools and techniques including SDLC, RAD and prototyping
