The Bahamas National Trust seeks to engage qualified personnel who will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Seahorse National Park which includes its’ property, assets, staff, and visitors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and patrol the Park regularly.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and report suspicious behavior.
  • Communicate with law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services as needed.
  • Monitor public access and ensure the security of all staff, volunteers, and visitors of the Park.
  • Respond to requests for assistance.
  • Enforce Park rules and regulations.
  • Safely operate small equipment.
  • Apprehend trespassers and perpetrators.
  • Maintain an activity log and prepare reports.
  • Adhere to BNT policies, Park rules and regulations, and the laws of The Bahamas.
  • Assist in the sanitary operation of restrooms when needed.
  • Work safely without injury to self, others, and property.
  • Interact with staff, volunteers, and the public in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Assist with support for special events and other projects as needed.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • 2-5 years of experience working as a security officer is a plus.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
  • General good physical condition.
  • Able and willing to work outdoors when the weather is hot, humid, rainy, or cold.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Fluency in a second language is a plus.
