Amentum is seeking a RF Engineer on Andros Island, Bahamas in support of the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC).

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs necessary repairs and provides training to junior technicians.
  • Schedules required periodic maintenance.
  • Operates the systems supporting range activities.
  • Assists with other AUTEC range systems including, DGPS, Large Area Tracking Range (LATR), Link-16, RADAR, Electronic Warfare R/F systems and hydrophone systems.
  • Performs analysis of system performance on a daily basis.
  • Identifies failures and initiates remedial actions.
  • Performs administrative tasks, record-keeping and procurement of spare parts inventories for assigned systems.
  • Performs installation and acceptance testing.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • May occasionally ride range vessels in support of mission objectives.  

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of directly related experience OR an Associate's degree in a related field with 6 years of experience in operations & maintenance of relevant systems. (Military training and direct related experience with these systems in lieu of a formal degree may be considered).
  • Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of R/F telemetry systems, transmitter/receiver circuits, antennas, displays, analog and digital encoders, R/F system alignments, troubleshooting and fault isolation is required.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment including: DVMs, TDRs, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, Signal Generators is required. Must be familiar with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 45 pounds of equipment. Must be able to climb multiple flights of stairs, ladders and work at heights.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to determine cause of failures and make necessary repairs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • A valid U.S. driver’s license and passport are required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous military and/or test range experience in the maintenance and operation of RADAR, Electronic warfare threat simulators, EWRDF and GPS tracking systems is preferred.
