To assist physicians in the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures that patients receive the best health care service possible.
  • Performs regular checks on patients and equipments.
  • Consults with physicians and other healthcare staff to develop and modify individual patient care plans.
  • Participates in home care programs for chronic respiratory patients and provide patient and family education.
  • Performs diagnostic tests, such as arterial blood gas analysis and cardiopulmonary functions tests. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and/or a related certification.
  • A valid License as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • At least two (2) years' experience in a hospital environment.
  • Registration with the Council for the Professions related to Medicine in Trinidad and Tobago. 
  • Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
