The Resident supports the Senior Medical Officer by managing patient cases, providing clinical expertise, making critical decisions, promoting teaching and research, and supporting clinical governance to ensure excellent service delivery.

 

Job Purpose

Supports the Senior Medical Officer or Consultant by effectively managing patient cases; both elective and emergencies for assigned firms; providing clinical expertise, making critical decisions, promoting and facilitating teaching and research, supporting the Hospital’s clinical governance programmes and encouraging commitment to and development of medical services that will translate into excellent service delivery.

 

Qualifications

  • Registered Medical Practitioner
  • Annual Registration with the Medical Council of Jamaica
  • Graduate from an accredited medical institution
  • Post Graduate Professional Qualification in the area of speciality
  • Five (5) years progressive and responsible experience in the Specialty
