The successful candidate will engage in team teaching for two comprehensive pathology courses covering general, anatomic, and clinical pathology, offered across three fifteen-week semesters each year.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide innovative and engaging instruction in Pathology, including Histopathology, Hematopathology, Oncology, and Cytology.
  • Integrate Pathology with related medical sciences such as Anatomy, Histology, Physiology, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Clinical Medicine.
  • Develop and present up-to-date course materials that align with accreditation standards and prepare students for licensing examinations.
  • Deliver interactive lectures that promote student participation and understanding.
  • Design examinations using current USMLE formats to assess students' comprehension.
  • Prepare, supervise, and grade examinations in collaboration with fellow faculty members.
  • Participate in departmental committees and work with other departments to enhance the educational experience.
  • Maintain availability for student consultation outside of scheduled lecture times.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, or DO) from an accredited medical school, preferably from the US, Canada, or UK.
  • Completion of residency training in anatomic or clinical pathology from a program recognized by the American Board of Pathology or equivalent European board.
  • A minimum of 5 years teaching experience in a medical school setting, ideally in the US, UK, or Canada.
  • Extensive knowledge across multiple disciplines of Pathology, enabling the effective development of lectures and syllabi.
  • Strong public speaking and lecture skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Proficient in using multiple computer applications for course management and student assessment.

 

Course Descriptions:

  • PATHOLOGY I (9 CREDITS): This course introduces students to the cellular systems of each organ, emphasizing morphological changes associated with disease. Topics include cellular responses to injury, inflammation, neoplasia, and immune pathology, supported by gross and microscopic specimen studies.
  • PATHOLOGY II (12 CREDITS): This systemic course builds on concepts from Pathology I, focusing on the pathologic basis of disease through a physiologic system approach. It covers red and white cell diseases, and diseases of the genital tracts, kidneys, and liver, emphasizing clinical diagnosis and case presentations.
