Amentum is seeking a Marine Machine/Weld Shop Supervisor to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct supervision for up to 6 direct reports to include assistant machinists, welders, and fabricators.
  • Responsible for manufacturing operations involving machining processes, scheduling work, ordering of tooling and raw materials, design of tooling for assembly and fixturing of CNC machines.
  • Responsible for coordination of all engineering documentation, and technical interface with customers as required.
  • Prioritizes and tracks all shop work orders.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • 10 years of direct experience in a supervisory capacity in Engineering/Manufacturing with emphasis on product fabrication, manufacturing, design, quality control, and assembly of finished component parts, with increasing responsibility, may be substituted for the formal education requirement.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Must be qualified in G-Code and CNC programming, working knowledge of AUTOCAD a plus.
  • Must have hands on experience in programming and operation of computer controlled milling machines and lathes.
  • Must understand ISO 9000 certification process.
  • Must be able to maintain records and provide monthly input for MOM’s reporting.
  • Must be able to interface with the Marine Mechanical Engineer to input design requirements for finished products.
  • Must be able to work to + - .0001 inch tolerances.
  • Must have the ability to direct and motivate personnel.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • A valid U.S. passport is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
  • 15 years direct experience in a supervisory capacity in Engineering/Manufacturing with emphasis on product fabrication, manufacturing, design, quality control, and assembly of finished component parts, with increasing responsibility is preferred.
