Lender

Your responsibilities will include:

• Interviewing clients for personal loans and mortgages.
• Approving credit applications within assigned limits. 
• Completing and submitting applications for approval to the VP and/or AVP, Consumer Credit, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
• Managing clients’ loan portfolios to include mortgages/trust, credit cards and overdraft facilities.
• Resolving client queries.
• Reviewing and reporting on any outstanding securities in portfolio.
• Cross selling other Butterfield products and services and making referrals to other departments.
• Maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at all times.
• Providing dedicated quality service to clients and co-workers.
• Providing guidance to other team members.
• Identifying new and existing client needs and making appropriate recommendations.

Your qualifications and skills include:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Business Administration or related discipline with at least five years of related experience.
• Experience with use of PC software Word, Filemaker Pro, and Excel.
• Highly effective interviewing skills/ techniques with proven ability to build/secure client relationships and new business.
• Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in working comfortably within a team environment that may be subject to time restraints
• Familiarity with a wide range of banking products
