The role involves supporting secondary students through interventions, co-teaching, IEP development, and mentoring, while collaborating with stakeholders and conducting assessments, including Access Arrangement evaluations and documentation.

 

Job overview

This position requires working with students in both one on one, small group and co-teaching situations across the Secondary Department; developing effective ways to intervene and overcome barriers to learning and working with subject teachers to facilitate student success. The successful teacher should have strong computer skills and be able to develop strong relationships and be comfortable working with students through their IGCSEs, and mentoring older students to support themselves.

Other responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following: the development of IEPs; adapting materials/lessons to meet specific needs; collaborating with service providers, teachers and parents; maintaining data and documentation. The successful candidate should ideally hold relevant qualifications in Psychometric testing (ie: CPT3A) and have experience in Access Arrangement assessment, report writing and JCQ/IB application. As Department Head, the applicant must have successful leadership experience in the role of learning support. This position requires heading a team of Academic Resource teachers, co-ordinating the provision of support across the Primary and Secondary departments and tracking the progress of all students with special needs, school wide.
