General Manager/Project Manager

The General Manager | Project Management will oversee the end-to-end execution of large-scale construction and real estate development projects. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational and communication skills to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The General Manager will lead and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders while collaborating closely with senior leadership and clients to drive operational excellence and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Project Leadership: Lead, manage, and oversee multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and execute project strategies that align with the company’s goals, ensuring all resources (human, financial, and material) are allocated efficiently.
• Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and manage the project management team, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and professional development.
• Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring all expectations are met, and maintaining strong relationships through effective communication, transparency, and problem-solving.
• Budget and Cost Control: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost management processes. Ensure projects are completed within financial constraints, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Risk Management: Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and address any challenges that may impact project timelines, costs, or quality.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all projects comply with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Foster a safety-first culture across all projects.
• Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and progress reports. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project status, milestones, and issues.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement within the project management function and work to implement best practices, tools, and technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. Master’s degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in construction and real estate development.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively with senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of construction processes, project scheduling (e.g., Primavera, MS Project), budgeting, risk management, and building codes.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a strategic approach to solving problems and driving solutions.
• Negotiation Skills: Demonstrated ability to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and resolve conflicts efficiently.
