The incumbent handles guest check-ins, payments, and requests, ensures billing accuracy, processes reports, supports team training, maintains safety and compliance, and provides excellent customer service while adhering to company standards.

 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Guest Check-In & Account Management:

  • Process guest check-ins, verify identity and payment, assign rooms, and issue keys.
  • Set up accurate accounts per guest requirements and enter Marriott Rewards information.
  • Ensure rates match market codes, document exceptions, and secure payment before issuing keys.
  • Verify and adjust billing as needed.

Financial Transactions & Reporting:

  • Process payments, vouchers, paid-outs, and charges.
  • Balance and drop receipts, count and secure bank at shift start and end.
  • Obtain manual authorizations and follow accounting procedures.
  • Compile and review daily reports, logs, and contingency lists.
  • Complete cashier and closing reports.

Guest Assistance & Customer Service:

  • Provide guests with directions and property information.
  • Accommodate guest requests and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Notify Loss Prevention/Security of theft reports.
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests, assist individuals with disabilities, and anticipate service needs.

Team Support & Leadership:

  • Assist management in training, evaluating, counseling, and coaching employees.
  • Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships to support team goals.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Follow company policies and procedures, report accidents and unsafe conditions.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Communication & Professionalism:

  • Speak clearly and professionally; prepare and review documents accurately.
  • Answer telephones with appropriate etiquette.

Physical & Operational Duties:

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and use POS/computer systems efficiently.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects under 10 pounds.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by supervisors.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • License or Certification: None
