Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission in Andros Island, Bahamas.

 

Job Purpose

AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. The Facilities Maintenance Manager Responsible for managing the Facilities Department including the following shops and disciplines: Carpenter, Paint, Locksmith, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigerating, Plumbing, Minor Construction (including concrete batch plant and sandblast, operations), Janitorial, and housing maintenance. Direct supervision over the maintenance and upkeep of all facilities within the confines of the AUTEC project (Sites 1 and 2).

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages the daily activities of the entire department through the shop supervisors.
  • Responsible for all resources, tools, equipment, property and other assets assigned to the department.
  • Responsible for the safe working environment of all employees within the department.
  • Hires, transfers and disciplines subordinates as required within the scope of the personnel authorization and staffing plan promulgated by AMENTUM and by AMENTUM policies.
  • Identifies and coordinates a training plan to meet the requirements of the Facilities Maintenance Department in coordination with the AMENTUM/AUTEC training department.
  • Develops and manages budgets for the department IAW AMENTUM and government directives.
  • Develops, updates and maintains the standard procedures for the facilities maintenance department.
  • Ensures that the Facilities Maintenance Department is meeting all goals of the contract with regards to Quality and Quantity of the work performed by all shops.
  • Develop and prepare reports to AMENTUM and NUWC management and to other government agencies as required.
  • Provides limited technical support to the Facilities Engineering Department and various construction repair projects at AUTEC.
  • Supports the annual housing inspection program as the Public Works representative.
  • Responsible for the annual Backflow Device and maintenance, subject to availability of funding.
  • Responsible for the annual inspection and certification of potable water backflow devices, Boilers and High-Pressure Vessels.
  • Review and certify vender invoices to confirm that work has been completed.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years related experience working in Facilities Maintenance environment in a management capacity.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system such as MAXIMO preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work harmoniously with Amentum, Military and Host Nation personnel.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, enter confined spaces and utility chases.
  • Valid Driver’s License and US Passport will be required.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
