The consultant supports economic growth and social development by providing analysis and monitoring to the Country Team and Regional Economic Advisor, aiding in development needs and results within the Bank's mandate.

 

Description:

The consultant's role will be to directly inform the Country Team and the Regional Economic Advisor (REA), in collaboration with the Country Representative, and will perform a wide range of functions to support the economic growth and social development of the country for which he is responsible, by providing economic monitoring and analysis of development needs and results within the framework of the Bank's mandate.

 

What you will do:

  • Country Dialogue: Monitoring macroeconomic development to inform the Bank and identify microeconomic risks/opportunities.
  • Analysis of social trends: Monitoring developments in poverty, urbanization, and economic policies.
  • Strategic coordination: Evaluation and updating of the Country Strategy in collaboration with national partners.
  • Knowledge management: Studies on local market capacities and assessment of the country's economic and social needs.
  • Dissemination of knowledge: Sharing knowledge through blogs, social media, and organizing meetings for economic development.
  • Internal collaboration: Support to negotiation teams with a local vision for regional initiatives.
  • Programming and execution: Development of macroeconomic guarantee documents and support for programming processes aligned with the multi-annual strategy.
  • Risk analysis: Identification of risks and opportunities in operations and improvement of project quality.
  • Operations evaluation: Analysis of lessons learned at the end of projects to improve future interventions.
  • Technical Contributions: Compilation of analytical data for project completion reports and other internal documents.

 

What you will need:

  • Education: Master's degree or equivalent in economics or related careers.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience. Extensive work experience and in-depth knowledge of an operational specialty. Ability to develop, analyze and address issues related to fiscal and macroeconomic policy. Ability to diagnose problems and propose concrete solutions. Minimum of three years of experience in economic research and monitoring and analysis of economic data.
  • Languages: Native French/Bilingual, Ability to read, write and speak Spanish and English.

Conditions of employment:

  • Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Haiti or a citizen of one of our 48 member countries with a residency permit or legal permit to work in Haiti.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and the second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at IDB, IDB Invest or IDB Lab.
