To direct and lead the Engineering Department in all aspects of building and property maintenance for a luxury boutique resort located in beautiful Eleuthera.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Experience in the management of building and room maintenance, landscaping, and engineering operations such as electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, cooling, structural, water and waste treatment plant, vehicles, and other work necessary to maintain a resort property in an optimum and efficient condition which ensures the safety and comfort of guests and employees.

 

Core Functions:

  • Supervises the Engineering Department’s daily responsibilities monitoring work assignments, productivity and standards.
  • Implement preventive maintenance schedules, policies and rules to ensure efficiency and proficiency within the department.
  • Leads and manages a diverse team fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, continuous improvement and high levels of performance and productivity.
  • Implements sound safety practices at the resort and enforces the company’s policies and procedures regarding the security and well-being of both guests and employees.
  • Leads the resort hurricane preparedness and natural disaster relief initiatives.
  • Monitors and supervises special projects specific to maintenance and renovations in conjunction with resort development programs.
  • Performs administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
  • Upholds the highest standards of quality and service, ensuring that The Cove, Eleuthera remains a top destination for travelers seeking luxury and tranquility.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Prefer 5+ years’ prior supervisory skills and work experience as an Assistant or Director of Engineering and mechanical trades with hotel/resort, or large buildings.
  • Formal training in the following: refrigeration, plumbing, air conditioning, building and construction.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with ease.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Strong guest and team member relations skills.
  • Reliable and responsible character, with exceptional follow up.
  • Works closely with all departments to ensure guest service levels are met.
