Community Psychiatric Nurse

Key responsibilities include:

• To participate as appropriate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment plans for clients /or groups of clients assigned to the care of the community team.
• Manages assigned case load, conducts assessments and triage of referred clients and supervises the work of support staff as applicable
• Orders and administers medications to Clients
• Ensures that services to be given are achieved in the most efficient and effective manner commensurate with sensitivity to Client needs
• Reports changes in the Client’s condition or behaviour to medical staff and/or other disciplines as appropriate within the parameters agreed with the Multi-Disciplinary Team
• Carries out other duties as considered necessary at the discretion of the Clinical Manager, Clinical Team and or Directorate
• Contributes to development of policies and procedures aimed at improving care and services

Qualifications & Registration required:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, or equivalent (RMN; RMNLD)
• Approved Certification in Community Psychiatric Nursing and/or experience in working in a Community Mental Health/ Intellectual Disabilities Team
• Minimum of 3 (three) years post graduate experience, preferably with an additional 1-year experience working in the community
• Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council
