The Communications Assistant (Media Public Relations) is responsible for assisting with the monitoring of media coverage, arranging media events and public relations activities.

 

THE CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

Assists with pre-arrangements for press conferences, media engagements and provide on-site assistance.
Researches, plans, reviews and creates scripts for video production that supports the Authority’s Health Promotions activities.
Co-ordinates video recording schedules and plan with subjects for efficient time management.
Films, edits and distributes video content.
Adds graphics, captions, sound and special effects to production.
Keeps up to speed on current video creation trends and practices.
Liaises with other Communications Assistants for task efficiency
Performs any other related duties as may be assigned by the Authority.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma in Public Relations/Marketing.
  • Associate Degree in Public Relations/Marketing would be an asset.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience with administrative assistance and media/public relations.
  • Five (5) CXC Subjects General or GCE O’ Levels-Grade I/II, including English and Mathematics.
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and mail merges; email and web searches.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
