The Communications and Public Relations Coordinator develops and executes communication strategies, manages media relations, ensures brand consistency, supports events, and produces reports to enhance organizational visibility and impact.

 

Position Overview

Coordinate communications initiatives regarding World Vision's work in the Dominican Republic, contributing to strengthening institutional relationships with media outlets, businesses, organizations, government entities, donors, partners, and other communities of interest. This is done with the goal of generating an impact that contributes to the organization's positioning.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute the communications and public relations plan with the area's management, with the goal of generating brand positioning.
  • Together with the Marketing and Digital Marketing areas, develop the digital and offline positioning strategy, consistent with the organization's strategy.
  • Manage relationships with the media, opinion leaders, personalities and influencers, and relationships with partners and stakeholders.
  • Produce POP materials for department activities. Oversees all materials produced across the organization's various areas, ensuring compliance with brand standards at all times. Helps ensure the cohesion of the organization's brand and identity.
  • Coordinate, promote, and cover media relations activities, writing and disseminating press releases, media pitches, and media positioning.
  • Oversees the production and setup of public-profile events to enhance the organization's positioning and public relations. Provides technical support and follow-up on the production and setup of activities for other areas of the organization.
  • Contribute to the definition of the organization's communication culture and corporate identity at an internal level.
  • Coordinate emergency and disaster response communication plans.
  • Collaborate with the sustainability area and raise resources for communication positioning.
  • Monitor and analyze the progress and impact results of activities and content shared with different audiences, primarily media outlets and social networks. Generate frequent impact reports on Communications activities.
  • Lead, together with Management, the production of reports and other publications to report to donors, partners, the media, and communities.

 

Requirements:

  • Graduate in Journalism, Communication, or related fields.
  • Extracurricular training in the following areas is valued: Marketing, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Social Marketing, Social Responsibility, or related areas.
  • Essential: advanced English (demonstrable).
  • Availability for travel within and outside the country.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in coordinating and implementing corporate events, within or outside of advertising agencies, media, among others.
  • Experience in designing organizational brand positioning initiatives.
  • Experience in monitoring institutional positioning in the media.
  • Experience in analyzing data on the impact of publications for decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to coordinate several initiatives simultaneously.
