Amentum is seeking a Cashier-Stocker to join our team on Andros Island, Bahamas to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) mission. This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for point-of-sale (POS) operation, product group oversight, in-store stock replenishment, stock price updates on shelves, stock displays, stocktakes, routine cleaning in product areas, maintenance of shelf display planogram, assistance with store resets, and the return of misplaced items to rightful spaces. 
  • Adhere to customer satisfaction guidelines and demonstrate appropriate interactions with customers while completing grocery transactions, answering questions, assisting with problems, and referring customers to store management when appropriate.
  • Accountable for inventory counting accuracy and must provide feedback regarding inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues that could contribute to financial loss. 
  • Adhere to inventory control procedures, waste documentation procedures, as well as general policies and procedures set for the retail store and warehouse.
  • Accountable for collaborating with material coordinators to maintain consistent product replenishment.
  • Help ensure the safeguarding of store assets (cash and inventory) and maintain cleanliness in the store and office spaces.
  • Support management in providing a safe environment for fellow employees and customers by identifying, reporting, and correcting hazards. 
  • Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility. Support the security requirement that all customers must wear badges.
  • Abide by the guidelines that goods in the retail store can be neither purchased by indigenous nor non-indigenous personnel for indigenous employee’s removal and consumption off the installation.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more (2+) years of cashier and customer service experience.
  • Great customer service skills with the ability to provide timely, empathetic assistance to all customers.
  • Must be dependable (consistent, timely, responsive, organized, accountable, goal-oriented, positive, and constructive contributor).
  • PC literate with accurate data-entry skills, required.
  • Expected to project a professional image, be task-attentive to minimize errors, good at managing time, and a creative self-starter with good communication skills.
  • Must be a proficient reader to understand and perform all written workflows, tasks, and procedures.
  • Must have good mathematical skills to quickly provide customer with correct change, to reconcile cash and credit transactions against drawer contents as well as recognize and resolve drawer discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Will work a non-traditional 40-hour work week which will include weekends and holidays.
  • Expected to be a dependable employee that shows up for work on time every day and produces consistent quality of work while applying retail store policies, procedures, and business strategies equally to each task and assignment.
  • Be able to lift, move, or carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • This position is reserved for Bahamian citizens only. Must be a citizen of the Bahamas.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more (2+) years working as a cashier in a grocery store or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Two years cashier experience, specifically on a point-of-sale systems preferred.
