The Forest Technician (GIS) supports forest management activities, provides GIS technical assistance, maintains GIS databases, assists with data collection, and contributes to mapping and public education initiatives.

Under the general supervision of the Forester (Forest Management), the incumbent is responsible for implementing various programs and projects in the management and development of the forest within the forest region.

Under the general supervision of the Forester (Client Services) the incumbent is responsible for the implementation of a variety of programmes and projects in the management and development of the forest within the forest region.

Under the general direction of the Senior Director, Zonal Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for providing technical inputs, establishing agroforestry sites and providing training associated with agroforestry.

Oversees PMAS implementation, ensures alignment of plans with performance standards, develops job descriptions, conducts training, manages appraisals and rewards, prepares reports, and supports system improvement.

Oversees procurement operations, advises management, ensures compliance with government policies, prepares procurement plans, manages tenders and contracts, resolves vendor issues, and aligns activities with budgetary guidelines.

Responsible for managing geospatial data, maintaining the Forestry Department's GIS, providing technical consultation, developing applications, and delivering decision-support tools for agency initiatives.
